B_aVoltaChem124a_internet.jpgWith its additional community members and public and private funding, VoltaChem’s Community will intensify its activities in the field of market and technology assessments. For 2017 multiple projects will be initiated focusing on the context of industrial electrification on a regional, national and international level.

Robert de Kler, community manager of VoltaChem, explains: “VoltaChem’s Community is a platform that brings together stakeholders from the chemical industry, energy sector, high-tech industry and public sector. We feel a growing support for VoltaChem and its objective to accelerate the energy transition towards a competitive and sustainable chemical industry.”

VoltaChem program for Community Members has started the following activities:

  1. Further development and implementation of a generic tool for business cases assessments of Power-2-X options for community members and project activities.
  2. Detailed study on the technical potential of demand response for the different regulated domains (control layers of the electricity grid): primary control, secondary control and reserved capacity and the feasibility of demand response on the different power market places (imbalance, day ahead, intraday) and ancillary services for the grid.
  3. LCA tool box: Extension of existing LCA tool box for LCA for entire chain reviews on Power-2-X.
  4. Power to feedstock for the chemical industry, being a continuation of the E-match study with explicit focus on the short term options of Power-2-Hydrogen and its conversion routes as a feedstock  for the (petro) Chemical industry.

VoltaChem invites companies from the chemical industry and electricity sector to join VoltaChem's Community to be involved in the community interactive sessions and specifically in the projects as mentioned. If interested, please contact our community manager Robert de Kler.
