VoltaChem Community: Plans for 2019

VoltaChem Community: Plans for 2019As the platform for open innovation in the electrification of chemical process technology, VoltaChem brings together stakeholders from the energy, chemical & equipment sector in an exclusive forum. With ever increasing pressure on CO2 reduction, VoltaChem makes it easy to stay on top of developments. As a member of the VoltaChem Business Community, you are first to receive the latest insights into technological developments and market opportunities. You have access to relevant events and reports and can benefit from bilateral consulting. A new initiative in 2019 is the establishment of Communities of Practice: business groups with a shared interest in specific technologies.

Community meetings 2019

As a member of the VoltaChem community, you have special access to our members-only events held four times a year. To inspire you and to facilitate exchange even further, we aim at hosting these community events at the sites of our members. Furthermore, in the fourth quarter of 2019, we will be organizing our 5th annual VoltaChem event. This will be planned shortly, and you will be informed accordingly. But please do already mark your agendas for the scheduled events listed below. We look forward to meeting you there!

March 26th Workshop value of energy flexibility - Insight from market simulation models.
June 26th

Masterclass Renewable Energy Carriers

September (TBD)  Workshop CO2 conversion using renewable energy
November (TBD) Workshop Impact of industrial electrification on chemical industries
December  The evening preceding the VoltaChem annual event
Dinner party (invitation-only) for the VoltaChem Business Community

New initiative: Communities of Practice

The defossilization challenge does not stop at the borders; it is a global challenge. The VoltaChem community is steadily growing in size across all sectors and across borders. We often experience detailed technical interest from our community members, yet during the VoltaChem community meetings, it is not always possible to go in technical detail.

That’s why we are launching a new initiative, the VoltaChem Communities of Practice (CoP) to address this issue. Communities of Practice are business groups with a shared interest in specific technologies. We will center the CoP’s around our program lines, starting with Power-2-Hydrogen and Power-2-Chemicals. Communities of Practice will focus on joint technology development (low TRLs, pre-competitive developments) and have strong ties to academia – without being an academic network. Each CoP will have unique activities tailor-made to the interests of the members involved. CoP’s will exist next to regular Business Community meetings where all members are invited. Existing community members can join CoP’s free of charge.

The first half of 2019 will see two pilot Community of Practice meetings:

March 12th Petten (NL)  Pilot Community of Practice Power-2-Hydrogen
Developing the supply chain for electrolysis – PEM Electrolyser industrial interest group
May 16th, Delft (NL)   Pilot Community of Practice Power-2-Chemicals
Opportunities for using electrochemistry in chemical production

Free trial

Although our community sessions are organized exclusively for our members, we offer organizations that are considering joining the VoltaChem Community, the opportunity to attend one of our community sessions free-of-charge. This enables you to assess the added value of membership for your organization. If you like to get a taste, send an email with your motivation to info@voltachem.com and our Community manager Monique Rijkers will contact you as soon as possible to assess together whether this free trial applies to you.

Questions, or anything to share?
